                                                     SUMMARY



               A biography is a text that talk about the factual description of someone. It can talk
               about someone’s childhood, education, career, relationship, family, and death. It is
               a written account of series of events that make up peson’s life. It can be just a few
               sentences.

               A bigraphy is included into a recount text. Recount text is a text used to relate ex-
               perinces or retell events for the purpose of informing, entertaining, or refecting. Re-
               count text embodies personal recount text and factual recount text.

               Biographies analyze and interprete the events of person’s life. It try to find connec-
               tions, explain the meaning of unexpected action, and make arguments about the
               significance of the person’s accomplishments or live activities.

               Characteristics
                 a. Written by another person or in third person
                 b. Based on factual data
                 c. It a true story
                 d. Written in chronological order
                 e. Describes the person’s surroundings (where, when and how the person lived).
               Function of Biography
                 - To know a person’s story about his/her life could motivate the reader.
                 - To give the detail information of someone’s life and to educate the readers.

               Generic Structure
                 Orientation. Introducing the participants, place, and time.
                 Events. Describing the series of events that happened in the past.
                 Reorientation (Optional). The personal comment of the writer related to the story.

               Language Features
                 a. Using Past Tense
                 b. Using Past Perfect Tense
                 c. Adverbial clause of time
                 d. Using active and Passive Verb
